Mighty Crown wins Sumfest World Clash
Five-time world clash champion, Mighty Crown, was this morning crowned winner of Reggae Sumfest 2018 World Clash held at Pier One in Montego Bay, St James.
The Japanese sound system, led by Masta Simon, Sammi T and Ninja, beat last year's champion, Tony Matterhorn, in the final.
"It's been a great night and a great victory all the way through," Sammi T told The STAR Online.
The competition featured an elimination phase that gave patrons the opportunity to decide which selectors should stay at the end of several rounds of 10-minute jugglings. Pink Panther and Ricky Trooper fell by the wayside, paving the way for Mighty Crown Tony Matterhorn to do battle in the final round.
The Japanese sound played a slew of Beres Hammond, Jimmy Cliff and Super Cat songs in the face-off with Tony Matterhorn.
"I did my studies and research and I know exactly which song to play. I brought my A game," Sammi T said.
