Cop tries to sell stolen car
A police constable has been arrested on reasonable suspicion of larceny of motor vehicle.
The cop, who is attached to the St. James Division, was arrested in Spanish Town, St. Catherine on Thursday.
Reports from the Spanish Town Police are that about 1:45 p.m., the constable was in the process of selling a Nissan AD Waggon when the prospective buyer became suspicious after discovering discrepancies with the documents allegedly registered to the vehicle.
The police were summoned and an investigation immediately launched which revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen in Portmore, St. Catherine on Thursday, June 14.
The motor car was seized and the constable taken into custody. His identity has been withheld pending further investigation.
