Dancehall artiste Ebony claims she has nine piercings and lots of tattoos on her body. The self-acclaimed “very bad girl” told Graphic Showbiz, that is her way of living her life.
“I have nine piercings and a lot of tattoos all over my body and this is how I want to live my life. How I dress, my tattoos, my hair and my colour comes with the Ebony brand and I want Ghanaians to accept that.”
The ‘Poison‘ act also spoke about what has become trademark look: showing lots of skin during her performances or public outings.
“The bad girl brand people see out there is a true representation of me. This is how I have been even before coming into the limelight. I don’t pretend to be who I am not. I am a very bad girl and there is nothing anyone can do about it. And I am proud to say it.”
She described as unfortunate a recent situation at the Passport office where she was asked to leave the premises because of her skimpy dress.
“I chose not to talk about it but I was very angry because there were ladies there with more revealing outfits but they were not asked to leave.” explained the Best New Artiste of the Year nominee at the 2017 Ghana Music Awards.
Born Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, her song ‘Kupe’ helped her gain mainstream attention in the Ghanaian music industry.
She has two other nominations at this year’s Ghana Music Awards: Dancehall Artiste of the Year and Best Reggae/ Dancehall Song of the Year .
Ebony is signed to Rufftown Records.
