Vin Diesel challenges Dwayne Johnson to a fight: ‘I would flex on The Rock!’
Ever wondered who’d win in a fist fight between Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Vin Diesel?
Well, UFC fighter Tyron Woodley would be putting his money on The Rock – regardless of whether their long-rumoured beef is the real deal. While appearing at the Hollywood premiere of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2, Woodley recounted a hypothetical conversation with Diesel on the topic – which left the xXx star feeling pretty peeved indeed.
‘Vin Diesel yelled at me yesterday at the party because I said in a fight versus him and The Rock, I gave it to The Rock,’ Woodley told TMZ Sports .
‘So he pulled up on me. Not in a violent way but he said “c’mon man, I would flex on The Rock”.’
When the speechless TMZ hosts agreed that Diesel would beat The Rock hands down, Woodley replied: ‘And he said he would flex on The Rock. I’m starting trash, I’m starting trash!’ The presenters also touched on the fact The Fate Of The Furious co-stars had ‘made up’ and were no longer batting heads in their long-standing feud.
With both stars reportedly slated for Fast And The Furious 9 , Diesel brushed off rumours of beef with Johnson , explaining to USA Today earlier in April the pair were simply just ‘two alphas’.
‘It’s not always easy being an alpha. And it’s two alphas,’ he said.
‘I don’t think the world really realises how close we are, in a weird way. I think some things may be blown out of proportion. I don’t think that was his intention.
‘I know he appreciates how much I work in this franchise. In my house, he’s Uncle Dwayne.’
He added: ‘I protect the franchise. I protect everybody including Dwayne. I protected Dwayne more than he’ll ever know. And it doesn’t matter. He doesn’t have to know. But he appreciates it. He knows it.
‘Dwayne has only got one Vin in his life. Dwayne Johnson has one big brother in this film world and that’s me.’
Rumours of a rift between the pair were sparked after filming wrapped on the eighth franchise , when Johnson called his male co-stars ‘candy asses’ in a scathing Instagram post. As he didn’t name any names, Dwayne’s male co-stars , including Vin, Scott Eastwood, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and Jason Statham, were in the frame.
‘Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken s**t to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses,’ he wrote. ‘When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling – you’re right.’
The Fate Of The Furious (or Fast 8) is in cinemas now.
